5 EASY Ways To Get Healthy!

5 EASY Ways To Get Healthy!

The skies are grey, it's not stopped raining since December and you can't even remember what the big glowing ball in the sky is called...oh yeah the sun, that's the one! With people struggling to make it to pay day (how is it still a whole week away!?) this week is supposed to be the time when people are most likely to give up their new year resolutions, quit their fitness regime and get divorced (who knew!?). With that in mind, we wanted to give you some healthy, happy and most importantly, POSITIVE tips to make your January just that little bit brighter (no holiday needed!).

Stay Hydrated - Yes, yes we know it may sound simple and you've probably heard it a million times before, but a study was just released that said drinking just 5 glasses of water/tea/squash a day (used to be 7!) will not only improve your health, but will also make your hair grow thicker, reduce dullness in your skin AND help you to concentrate better in the day time (if you're not running off to the loo every half an hour!).

Listen To Music - That's right folks, you'd better sign up to that free Spotify trail ASAP, as we now know that listening to ANY genre of music (even that depressing James Blunt) releases happy chemicals in your brain, helps you to digest your food easier (huh!?) AND can increase brain activity by up to 14%. I mean if that's all it takes, let me get my Spice Girls albums out!

Play With Animals - Yup, spending time with you pets is now proven to help you relax. Apparently it's the stroking, brushing or playing with your animal friends that puts your mind in the "now" and makes you appreciate other living beings. I mean it's not like we needed an excuse to play with our little angel, Ruby, but now she's a proven therapy dog!

Try Mindfulness - It's a phrase that's been around for a while now, and mindfulness really is the way forward to a relaxing, happy life. It's all about 'appreciating the moment' and not worrying about what may happen (easier said than done we know). Painting, colouring, knitting; anything that you really have to concentrate on is now considered a form of meditation and we are 100% on board!

Go For A Walk - You don't need expensive gym memberships, fancy equipment or even a gym outfit (although our #rockthegym range is amazing obvs). Nope, all you need is yourself, 20mins and somewhere outside (the daylight, even on a cloudy day is also an extra boost!). 20 mins, three times a week can help your immune system, help you sleep better and make you a happier, healthier person!
