Is It Actually Going to Be Hot in Bury This Week? Yes. We're Panicking Too.
Right, so. The weather app says seven days above 20°C and I've read it four times now because I genuinely don't trust it.
We live in Greater Manchester. The last time it was properly warm here, someone on our street put a paddling pool out and three neighbours filmed it like it was a news event. We are not a people who take heat for granted. We are a people who own twelve cardigans and wear at least two of them in August.
What Does a UK Heatwave Actually Mean?
It means chaos, mostly. It means someone in the office will say "it's too hot now, isn't it" by day three. It means the nation's entire supply of disposable barbecues sells out before Wednesday. It means you'll see a bloke in full denim at the tram stop looking absolutely furious about his own choices.
It also means the annual Great British Wardrobe Crisis, where you open your drawers and discover that everything you own is a sweatshirt.
Which, fair enough. We've been in sweatshirt weather since approximately October. Nobody warned us this was coming.
What Do You Actually Wear When It's Hot But You're British?
A t-shirt. Just a t-shirt. No layers. No backup fleece tied around your waist just in case. A t-shirt, on your body, in the sunshine, like a normal person from a country where this happens regularly.
Our Personalised Year Unisex T-shirt is genuinely the one for this. You pick your year, we print it, it arrives in a day or two and suddenly you have something to actually wear when it's 22°C and you're standing in the garden pretending you're on holiday. It's relaxed, it's unisex, it works on everyone. We've sold over 80 of them in the last three months and I think at least half of those people had this exact week in mind.
If you're more of a "I've already mentally checked out and I'm not even pretending to be functional" kind of person (valid, extremely valid), the Blah Blah Blah Slogan T-shirt says everything that needs saying without you having to use any actual words. Wear it to the garden centre. Wear it to pick the kids up. Wear it while squinting at the sky trying to work out if that cloud means it's all over.
Should You Lean Into the Holiday Vibes Even Though You're in Bury?
Absolutely yes. One hundred percent yes. This is your week and you deserve to be delusional about it.
That's where the Embroidered Yes I Like Piña Coladas T-shirt comes in. Because yes, you're probably going to spend most of this heatwave doing a normal Tuesday, but you can do a normal Tuesday while the embroidery on your chest quietly implies you're someone who has opinions about rum. It's the vibe. It's the whole vibe.
