FINALLY. The wait is over. Deep breaths everyone.
The light at the end of the dark, cold and wintery tunnel is shining through. Get ready to bask in the South African rays beaming through from your TV screen as the new series of Love Island takes center stage. YAAASSSSS! It's been a loooong six months.
Returning for its fifth series on Sunday the 14th of January 2020, ten new ‘Islanders’ will take to our tellies to give us six weeks of iconic catchphrases, tears and many tantrums - exactly the type of content we need whilst the January blues hit us like a tonne of bricks.
Accompanying boyfriend Iain Stirling, Laura Whitmore (best known for presenting I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! Now!) has been confirmed to present the new series, after Caroline Flack controversially stepped down after relationship issues that have been in the press.
She recently released a statement saying…
“Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly. In order not to detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is stand down from Series 6. I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.”
Apparently Laura has Caroline’s blessing which is great but I mean.. No pressure!
Anyway, back to the important stuff!
Our prayers have been answered and the contestants entering the villa have been revealed... The muscle to clothes ratio did not disappoint! In the race to win the £50k prize are:
Rochelle Humes’ little sister Sophie Piper (we're already obsessed with her), Scaffolder Callum Jones, Beauty consultant Siannise Fudge, Coffee bean salesman Connor Durman, Builder Nas Majeed, democratic services officer Saughna Phillips, Paige Turley (Rumoured to be Lewis Capalidi's ex!), an heir to Lanhydrock Estate (?) Ollie Williams, Customer service advisor Leanne Amaning, Police officer Mike Boateng and finally Twins Eve and Jess Gale!
Safe to say there that's quite a mixed bunch!
