Red Nose Day Desert Trek - it's Hot Stuff!

100 gruelling kilometers? 9 brave celebrities? 1 scorching hot desert? It´s the BT Red Nose Day Desert Trek!

That´s right, a team of intrepid celebrities have selflessly volunteered to undergo what is likely to be the most demanding physical challenge of their lives this Red Nose Day...

Scott Mills revealed live on Radio One this morning, that The BT Red Nose Desert Trek will see Craig David, Ronni Ancona, Lorraine Kelly, Olly Murs, Dermot O´Leary, Nadia Sawalha, Kara Tointon, Peter White and himself, pushing themselves to the limit in the Kaisut Desert!

.They will tackle some of the planet´s toughest terrain and deadliest creatures (mainly snakes!) to raise as much cash as possible for Comic Relief. The team of Celebs will aim to hike 20 kilometres of desert a day for 5 days while enduring temperatures as high as 100 degrees Fahrenheit -don´t forget your sunblock guys!! ,

The celebrities will trek over mountains, through bush and across desert?. They may encounter any of the 126 species of snake that live in the desert, including the Black Mamba and the Puff Adder (no relation to Puff Daddy).

The money raised will go to several Comic Relief projects but the Celebs are hoping to help prevent thousands of people in Africa going blind or contracting eye conditions like trachoma. ,Scott Mills said on Radio One that:

"Throughout the course of the trek, we will meet many people who are losing their sight and need urgent eye care. It just takes ?5 to give a person treatment that could save their sight."

As with last year´s Comic Relief adventure, which saw Chris Moyles and other celebs heading up Mount Kilimanjaro for charity, this year´s journey will be filmed for a documentary on the BBC. The show will be shown in the run up to Red Nose Day, which this year will be on March 18th (the day after St. Patricks Day!!)

You can donate to the good people at Comic Relief, in support of the Red Nose Day trek, by heading to the official site - rednoseday.com/trek

In the meanwhile, show your support by getting prepared for the tough terrain in our Army Costumes!

It´s survival of the fittest, so ´Do Something Funny for Money´ this year and raise some cash for Red Nose Day! Get planning now, there´s just 5 weeks to go?

Love, The Girls xx
