It's Friday, Friday, Friday!!

A couple of months ago you may not have heard of Rebecca Black? Now? it´s Friday and we can´t get her silly song out of our heads!! The unknown American Pop singer released her single ´Friday´ on YouTube and iTunes in the middle of March and it became an instant hit! So you would think that it was really really good, right? Wrong. The song has received an extremely negative response, with some critics calling it the "worst song ever!! Despite this, the music video that was uploaded to YouTube has since received over 70 million views (as of 1st April 2011). And it appears that Rebecca does have one fan (apart from Lynzie in our office?) yes it´s Music Mogul Simon Cowell!

Talking to People magazine he said: ´I love her and the fact that she´s gotten so much publicity. People are so upset about the song, but I think it´s hysterical.´ ´I want to meet her. Anyone who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet. I love people like that.´ Rebecca herself says that: ´I think I have talent on some level. I don´t think I am the worst singer but I don´t think I´m the best either?´ She added that the whole point of the song was that it was ?catchy? (and presumably not a timeless classic then?!)
