Yes we were right when we said Gnomes, Gnomes, Gnomes, Everywhere... Today there´s been an invasion of the Tiny Terrors! ,
Hundreds of tiny garden gnomes popped up in our very own Manchester city centre this morning - leaving commuters and shoppers puzzled. (We would have liked to have seen some of the reactions!!)
The little gnomes, complete with traditional blue and red gnome hats, appeared on pavements outside M.E.N. offices in Piccadilly Gardens. Even more tiny men armed with Fishing Rods and Spades were spotted outside the Urbis near Victoria train station... ,, (Gosh, what about ?Elf and Safety? people?!)
The Gnome Army is apparently part of a ´Gnome Flashmob´ campaign to promote the new 3D film ´Gnomeo and Juliet. The campaign was also carried out at Liverpool Street Station in London yesterday - which you may remember was the location of the T-Mobile ´crazy dance´ advert!)
Passers-by were encouraged to ´give a gnome a home´ and take them off the street. Well, they do say ?There´s No Place Like Gnome?! ,
Gnomeo & Juliet 3D is a reworking of the classic Shakespeare play and is released in cinemas this Friday. The all-star cast features surprising voice-overs from Dolly Parton, Hulk Hogan (?!) and even Ozzy Osbourne - maybe there are subtitles for his speaking parts?!
Nevertheless, we are very excited to go see the little guys in action!
