Our city has had a difficult year; but our city is also one of the best in the world, and as we always will, we will rise up again and enjoy everything life has to offer. Christmas is always a magical time in Manchester. From the festive German markets, to the infamous pantomime at the Palace Theatre, we make sure we make this time of year extra special! With so much to do and see, we thought it would be helpful to let you know our fave things to do in Manchester this December!
Christmas Carols at The Cathedral - what could be more magical than singing classic carols in the most beautiful setting! Manchester Cathedral is stunning, and this has to be the most perfect time to see of year to see it. So dust off those vocal cords and down! (Carol singing most days throughout December)
Gino's Pizza and Prosecco Bar - I mean we don't need Christmas as an excuse to indulge in pizza and prosecco, but it just so happens that our fave Italian chef has just opened a new restaurant in Next (so shopping too!) in the Arndale centre! We're on our way!
Christmas Markets - It wouldn't be Christmas without the yearly German markets! Oh yes! From hot mulled wine, to Yorkshire pudding wraps (the new thing apparently) the markets are a food heaven! You can also get all your presents sorted, with stunning hand made gifts - what more could you want! (Open until 20th December)
Ice Skating in Spinningfields - I mean if you can't ice skate at Christmas, then when can you! Don't worry if you're not a a dab hand on the ice, this is open for all ages and abilities (and has little penguin helpers for those who need it!) and is a great activity for the whole family! (open until December 23rd)
It was recently voted the UK's favourite Christmas film (and we agree!) and this year we are lucky enough to have the broadway musical version of Elf, at the Lowry theatre! Opening to the public tonight, this new musical, featuring our favourite Elf, has had amazing reviews from press and it's the hot ticket in town! (Runs at the Lowry Theatre until January 14th)
