So, going keeping our previous top tips in mind...
This was my first time back in the charity shops for a good while - thanks to corona - and so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of the amount of items I might find. While looking around, I kept in mind that we are heading into autumn now and so was looking out for jackets/coats and trousers - I really wanted some wide leg suit trousers as I really love this style dressed down with a t-shirt.
I was so surprised by the amount of clothing in the shops! I think everyone has been doing a corona clear out while on furlough because I've never seen so many items with the tags still on.
Anyway, item number one was this check shirt jacket. Perfect for transitioning between seasons, I have been seeing this type of jacket all over Instagram for a while now! It felt pretty much new and was the bargain price of £3.99. I styled it with jeans and our Friends inspired Pivot T-shirt for a casual fit.
The second item I found was a pair of leather trousers for £4.49. I was originally looking for more of a suit trouser style but, after seeing these in British Heart Foundation, I had to get them! They're great for autumn as they're more dressy than jeans but can keep you toasty in the cold wind.
The final item I got was the bargain of the day. I found this leather jacket on an "everything £1 rack" and couldn't believe it. It had a hood originally which made me overlook it at first, but then I realised it could just zip straight off - always take a second look when thrifting! This jacket is super oversized on me which I think makes it look even more on trend right now.
So all in all, it was a pretty good shopping trip; better for the environment and the purse! Shopping more consciously will do wonders for workers rights as well as the environment - and you're helping great charities along the way. Shop high quality. Shop ethical. Shop second hand.
Are you going to go charity shopping?
