There is nothing more fabulous than seeing a range of clothes strutting down the catwalk or being photographed in magazines... But what we like most, is seeing the creation of a range or the idea that sparks a collection. A lot of designers put together their thoughts with mood boards or simple sketches.

The artist behind these sketches is the super talented Silvana Mariani aka Open Toe! Silvana draws the illustrations with her iPad and blogs about the results on Open Toe, a fashion illustrated project.We asked her what inspired her to create such stylish sketches, and here's what she said:
The inspiration for my illustrations is culture and peoples customs.. I like the way fashion is getting more and more social. Beauty and how we look after ourselves is becoming much more important, as well as how we express ourselves through the choice of what we wear every day...
